"The Fisherman: Songs for the Old Man"
He stands
Firmly on the ground
His rod out to the world
Awaiting the stiffness of the world
The water is calm
And embracive
His eyes narrow
They're rough and stone-like
His calloused hands
Grip the rod like an iron hammer
His breath is short and sweet
Calming his nerves with every moment
The line casts
The water splashes
And the world hums with the wind
Schools of fish watch him
Look towards him for guidance
The fish need him
And the fisherman knows this
And the fisherman loves the fish
